How to Set Up and Play Grim Dawn Multiplayer
Grim Dawn is a dark fantasy action RPG that supports up to four players in co-op mode. You can host or join multiplayer games using Steamworks, and choose between different game modes, loot settings, and PvP options. Here is a guide on how to set up and play Grim Dawn multiplayer with your friends.
Hosting a Multiplayer Game
To host a multiplayer game, you need to have a router that supports either UPnP, or a router that will allow you to manually forward port 27016 for TCP and UDP[^1^]. Then, follow these steps:
From the main menu, select Host Multiplayer.
Select your character and click Start.
Choose your game settings, such as difficulty level, game mode (Normal or Veteran), and password (optional).
Choose your multiplayer settings, such as Internet or LAN, Auto-Party (which automatically parties everyone in the game world), Instanced Loot (which gives each player their own loot), and PvP (which allows players to attack each other).
Click OK to create your game session and load into the world.
Joining a Multiplayer Game
To join a multiplayer game, you need to have Steam running and be online. Then, follow these steps:
From the main menu, select Join Multiplayer.
Select your character and click Start.
You will see a list of active game sessions that match your character's level and difficulty. You can also filter the list by game mode, password, region, and ping.
Select a game session that you want to join and click Join. If the game session has a password, you will need to enter it.
You will load into the world and join the host's party (if Auto-Party is enabled) or create your own party (if Auto-Party is disabled).
Playing Multiplayer
Once you are in a multiplayer game, you can enjoy the following features:
You can chat with other players using the chat window (press Enter to open it) or voice chat (press V to toggle it).
You can trade items and iron bits with other players in your party. To initiate a trade, right-click on the player's status display in the upper left of the screen and select Trade.
You can share experience and iron bits with other players in your party. Experience gain is shared as long as you are in the same party. Iron bits are shared only if you play in Free-For-All mode.
You can fight against other players if PvP is enabled. You can only attack players who are not in your party. Note that death is permanent for hardcore characters that engage in PvP.
Grim Dawn multiplayer is a fun way to experience the game with your friends or other players online. You can explore the grim world of Cairn together, face challenging enemies and bosses, and loot epic items. Have fun!Multiplayer Tips and Tricks
